PRINTED TARGET IMAGE:
For this test, we used a Diagnostic 0.63x or 0.5x C-mount where applicable to match the camera's sensor size to achieve the maximum Field Of View (FOV) so that the images will represent the largest rectangle we can get out the microscope's circular FOV without vignetting (blackened corners). Click here for more on FOV... For the DSLR camera, we used our MDSLR-LM 1.38x Adapter, again to achieve maximum FOV without vignetting. The camera control software included with each camera system was used to adjust white balance and gamma. The included control software for each camera is listed in the left hand column along with other specifications.

For these images, we used a Leica M125 with a Plan Apo 1x objective. Optical magnification was 10x, and a fiberoptic dual arm was used for illuminaton. Each image is straight from the camera with no post-processing. These images are resized to 15% of their original image size. Click on the image to download the full resolution image.

Recommended for professional industrial and medical imaging applications.

Moticam 1000 w/ 0.5x C-mount - 1/3" CMOS - 1.3MP - USB2 - ImagesPlus2.0 - Made in China - $399.00		The Moticam 1000 captures a reduced field of view because it has a smaller 1/3" sensor. A 0.35x C-mount would correct this, but those are less common and generally more expensive. Recommended mainly for educational use.
