For the month of March, Bobby
Martin volunteered to teach a group of high school students from the
Easley Home Educators organization a basic microscopy course. We
covered the parts of the microscope in detail, Koehler illumination, brightfield,
phase contrast, differential
interference contrast, reflected
light brightfield / darkfield,
polarized light, calibrating
an ocular micrometer, and finally stereomicroscopes.
Whew - that was a lot in four one-hour classes!
