March 2010: New for 2010, Motic
has announced an upgraded BA410 microscope which should be
available by year-end. Improvements include new crisper Plan
objectives, an ergonomic tilting and telescoping head, improved phase
contrast components, and an optional 12V halogen lamphousing with
external transfomer. These will all be welcome additions to an
already excellent microscope. Motic also has a new automated slide
scanning microscope system with motorized nosepiece, stage, and
focus. The integrated software scans the entire slide at any
objective magnification you choose and includes an image archiving
database. Quite impressive - will sell for around
$50,000.00! Finally, their digital classroom solution, MoticNet,
has been installed in half a dozen facilities in the US. A
MoticNet installation consists of a quantity of Motic student
microscopes and digital USB cameras, each with their own computer, and
all the computers networked to the teacher's computer whereby the
teacher gets a thumbnail image of what each student is seeing at his or
her station to be sure all students are seeing what they should.
The teacher can then click on any thumbnail image and bring that up full
screen to project to the whole class. This is the microscopy lab
of the future, available today! Contact
us for more information on any of these products. Finally,
unconfirmed by Motic, our Zeiss friends tell us that the new Zeiss
PrimoVert inverted microscope is 100% made by Motic, just like the
PrimoStar introduced in 2006.
April 2008: Martin Microscope Company
was recognized as the largest Motic dealer in the Southeastern US for 2007 - photo.
The long-awaited BA300P
Polarizing microscope is finally here, and it was worth the wait -
top notch features otherwise found only on research grade pol scopes and
priced at only $3,600.00! We have this microscope in stock ready
for demonstrations, so contact us if you'd like to try it out.
Also, the Motic BA400T-FL and AE31-FL fluorescence
microscopes are now available with a choice of standard HBO100W
illumination or with a Prior
Lumen 200W Metal Halide illuminator. The Lumen is brighter
than HBO100W and the bulbs last 10x as long! There are some other
considerations, though, so contact us for more information.
Motic's educational Moticam
digital camera line has come down in price for the 2MP and 3MP models,
and Motic also has a new 5MP CMOS camera for $1,299.00.
