The Labomed LX-POL is designed for educational use. Labo America has done a great job of providing all the features needed in an educational level polarizing microscope, plus attention to details that make these easy to use and store. For instance, there's storage for the centering keys which work for both the nosepiece and for the Bertrand lens, and there's storage slots for the included first order red, quarter wave, and quartz wedge compensators. The optical quality is also better than most in this price range.
