Motic SMZ-172 Stereomicroscope

The SMZ172 is a capable and versatile Greenough type stereomicroscope suitable for a variety of applications.  It features crisp optics, smooth controls, and LED Near Vertical reflected light and brightfield / darkfield transmitted light illumination.  The standard near vertical LED illumination is great for some applications where it's important to get light down in a hole or cavity, but for most applications we recommend adding an optional LED Spotlight, Dual Gooseneck, or Ringlight illuminator.  Generally, we recommend the Spotlight for classrooms, the Dual Gooseneck for biological laboratories, and the Ringlight for industrial inspection.  The trinocular option includes a widefield 0.4x C-mount adapter suitable for most digital microscopy cameras.
